The annual gala event featured Channel 3's Pat Ciarrocchi as emcee. More than 160 community members, dignitaries, tutors and students attended this year's fundraising breakfast. Tutor Rose Grobstein, was presented with the Betsy Hawkes Memorial Award to honor her longtime commitment and dedication to the Program. VEP students Gustavo Castro (Columbia) and Duyen Tran (Vietnam) talked about their experiences learning English with the help of their VEP tutors. Cynthia Murter from China, one of Chester County's newest American citizens, led the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.
